3rd month, 3rd mountain. I can't believe that I actually kept my promise to myself, to have an adventure at least once a month. This is the farthest I have been in terms of keeping a new year's resolution, and I must say that I am immensely proud of myself So far, so good. (I deserve a pat on the back!) ∆∆∆ Heck, enough about me, and more about the trip. This trip, is not just another trek and a walk through the wilderness. This trip is a test of friendship, funny as it may sound, but it's true. I climbed Pinatubo with 8 of my closest friends from high school (if our barkada would've been complete, we would be 13 in all) some of which I haven't seen in ages- when I say ages, it means years. But it seems that we all time travelled back to high school on that particular Saturday, high school with a little hint of "matureness" in everyone. (Quotation marks on matureness, because you know, who is mature when you're with friends? who?) Planning this t...

Reposting my entry about Mt. Pulag for Contiki Storytellers.  ∆∆∆ To start the year 2014 right, I had my first climb ever and it had to be the 3rd highest mountain in the Philippines. Mount Pulag, stands 2,922 meters above sea level, almost 9 hours drive from Manila, and the peak 5 hours worth of trek. Nothing could have ever prepared me for this unforgettable trip. It wasn't all smiles (especially behind the camera) during the journey. First there was the rain, I didn't mind walking and hiking for hours, but the rain made it almost impossible for us reach the campsite, which was a 3-4 hour hike from the jump-off. Then there was the freezing cold, I know this isn't much of a big deal for some, but being in a tropical country all my life makes me vulnerable to the cold. So rain plus the cold, doesn't make that much of a good combination, especially during your first time climbing and camping. Everything (and I mean everything) that I brought with me, was soakin...

It was my second time going to Sinulog and I can that I was more prepared than I was 3 years ago. My friends and I booked ticket to Cebu, while we were in Singapore, thinking that this would be our homecoming celebration. I can't say that this year is better than the last time I came, but it's still is something for the books. ∆∆∆ This year's crew comprises of old and new friends. Singapore friends + high school friends + friends that I've only met that day and will probably never meet again in the near future.  This year, I went with the bucketeers, no actually the bucketeers went with the bboys. We tagged along with our friend who was going with his friends. Good thing is that I've known these guys since high school, and it wasn't all that awkward. We didn't had a hotel to stay in up until 2 days before our flight, and boy were we lucky to have a room in the same hotel as our friends, considering that it was "fully booked" everywhe...
